FAREWELL COUNTRY FAIR!  - but keep a look out for something new!

 

After 30 years, during which our fantastic team of volunteers has devoted hour upon hour to organising our annual Fair, we have decided, after much soul searching, that now is the right time to quit whilst we are still ahead. The present economic situation and the ever increasing costs of staging the event, coupled with the fact that some of our key organisers need to reduce their commitment has led the Trustees of The Yardley Hastings Society, the charity which underwrites the event, to reluctantly decide that 2011, our 30th Fair, was the last.

 

It has been a great 30 years and we would like to thank not only our own in-house team of volunteers but everyone who has helped to make the show a success - our loyal traders, concessionaires, support teams, entertainers and the organisers of the numerous on-site attractions - many of whom have become friends over the years.  We would also like to thank the many tens of thousands of visitors who have poured through the gates to enjoy a day at Fair, many of whom returned year after year.   

 

Whilst we are taking a rest from show organising in 2012, we have a Think Tank working on a potential new fund raising event, so keep your eye on this website and we'll keep you posted on their progress.  As they say, a change is as good as a rest!
